This Week In Athletics!

Welcome to our weekly Athletics updates. As always, you can find game times on our Athletics Calendar that is linked on the WDV Athletics website. We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

SOFTBALL IS HERE! Try outs will be held on Dec 5th & 6th @ Del Aire Park: 12601 Isis Ave. Hawthorne, CA 90250, from 4:30-6:30pm.

Bring: glove, bat, helmet, and water
Wear: softball clothes and cleats

Girl’s Basketball plays in St. Monica Tournament this week @ St. Monica H.S.: Nov. 28-Dec. 1. Nov. 28: 3:00pm, Nov. 29:6:00pm, Nov. 30: 3:00pm, Dec. 1 TBD.
Nov. 28-Dec. 3: Home JV Boys Basketball Tournament (Athletes will be released early at 2:45 M-W.

Soccer Boys and Girls Soccer games kick off this week with games on:

Girls JV Soccer: Nov. 28 @ Juan Anza at 4:15, Nov. 30 @ Juan Anza at 5:00pm.

Girls Varsity Soccer: Nov. 28 @ Juan Anza at 5:45pm.
Dec. 2, 3, 5, Bellflower Tournament @ Bellflower and Norwalk H.S. See coaches for game time details.

Boys Soccer: play @ Beverly Hills Nov. 28 JV: 6:00PM, V: 7:30PM. Nov. 30 @Lynwood. JV: 4:30PM V:6:00PM

Dec. 1@ Juan Anza vs Culver City. JV: 4:30PM, V: 6:00PM

Weekly Update

Quick updates for the week in Athletics:
This week we have Girls Basketball Tournament taking place from 11/15-11/17 @ Dymally High School.

They will also play on 11/21 @ WDV gym at 1pm.

Boys Basketball will play @ home in the WDV Gym on Wednesday 11/16 @ 5:30pm and 7pm as well as on Saturday 11/19 @ El Segundo against Palos Verdes. Game times are JV @ 6PM, V @ 7:30PM.

Boys Basketball will also have a home tournament from 11/21-11/22 continuing on 11/25 and 11/26.

Girls V Soccer will have their first Scrimmage vs Animo on 11/22 @ Juan Anza Home Field at 5PM.

Reminder: athletes must complete a yearly physical and upload this to participate in sport practices. These must be uploaded prior to practices on CIF Home. This link is available on our athletic webpage, once you click this, create an account with the student’s name they enrolled in school with. From there, simply upload all the forms and let the coach know you have completed these steps, and wait for clearance from the AD.

WDV Playoff Update

Congrats to girls soccer and boys soccer who made it to the semi-finals last week. Boys volleyball won the wild card round and made it to the first round of the playoffs. All three teams had tough losses last week. What great seasons for each of them…awesome job athletes and coaches! We are so proud of your resilience, work ethic and commitment during these challenging times.

This week, boys basketball, girls basketball, and swim begin their CIF playoffs. Boys basketball will be on the road vs Bell Gardens on May 26th, start time 7pm. Girls will host Rancho Christian on May 27th, start time 7pm. Swim had several athletes qualify. The swim championships will take place on May 29th at Santa Margarita High School, start time 4pm.

This weekend we will find out whether softball, baseball and track make the playoffs.
