Hey Wiseburn Da Vinci students! Just a friendly reminder that Cheer Tryouts are happening this week โ Wednesday through Friday, June 26โ28! If youโre interested in joining the team, nowโs the time to get everything ready.
โ Pre-registration is required, so be sure to sign up ahead of time. REGISTER HERE

Hereโs what to expect:

June 26โ27: These will be clinic days, where you’ll learn the routines, cheers, and material you’ll need to perform at tryouts. Attendance on both days is REQUIRED so you can feel confident and prepared.

June 28: Official Tryout Day! This is when youโll show what you’ve learned and shine.
Bring your energy, a great attitude, and be ready to work hard and have fun. We canโt wait to see all the talent you bring to the floor!

Are you full of school spirit, energy, and enthusiasm? Do you love to perform, work hard, and be part of a tight-knit team? Then weโve got exciting news for youโWiseburn Da Vinci Cheer Tryouts are just around the corner!
Whether you’re a returning athlete or brand new to cheer, we encourage you to come out and show us what youโve got. Our cheer team is all about commitment, positivity, teamwork, and leadershipโand weโre looking for athletes who are ready to bring that energy to the 2025-26 season!

WDV Cheer Performing Half-Time Show During South Bay Lakers Game
Support Your Cheerleaders!
The Wiseburn โ Da Vinci cheerleaders will be showcasing their incredible skills at the South Bay Lakers halftime on Thursday, February 13, so make sure to show up early to cheer them on. Itโs the perfect opportunity to show your support for the team as they perform for a crowd at one of the most exciting basketball events in our local area.
A Night at the South Bay Lakersโ HQ in El Segundo
Join us at the South Bay Lakersโ facility and headquarters in El Segundo for a thrilling evening packed with energy, sports, and plenty of fun. This special event promises something for everyone โ from basketball lovers to supporters of the Wiseburn Da Vinci cheerleading team. Youโll get to enjoy a fast-paced game between the South Bay Lakers and the Austin Spurs, as well as a live performance by the talented Wiseburn Da Vinci cheerleaders during halftime.
Wiseburn Da Vinci Athletic Department Update (Nov. โ24)
As the leaves change and the weather cools, we close out an incredible fall sports season and turn our attention to the excitement of winter athletics. Letโs take a moment to celebrate the achievements of our student-athletes and look forward to whatโs ahead!
Fall Sports Wrap-Up

- Esports
The WDV Esports Super Smash Bros Varsity team qualified 19th out of 291 teams in the CIF Southern Section during the fall season, making it to CIF playoffs for the first time in WDV history!ย ย
They narrowly missed out in their first playoff match against West Covina High School on Nov 18th but learned a lot to apply to the upcoming spring season.
- Cross Country
The WDV Cross Country team recently wrapped up a stellar season. Some highlights from their year include:ย
- Laguna Hills Invitationalย ย ย
- 3rd place out of 9 schools in the Menโs 3 mile Senior D3ย
- Bellarmine Sacred Heart Invitationalย
- 8th out of 22 schools in the Menโs 3 miles Fresh/soph Large schools andย
- 8th out of 29 schools in the Menโs 3 mile Large Schools
- Central Park Invitational
- 2nd out of 23 schools in Womenโs 3 miles Freshmanย
- Warrior Mile
- Brogan Archeiga – Menโs open 1600m – 188th out of 485 competitors with a time of 5:12:30
- Edith Vieyra – Womenโs open 1600m – 64th out of 260 competitors with a time of 6:03:40
Studentsโ commitment and strong finishes at meets demonstrated grit and teamwork, setting a high bar for seasons to come.
Winter Sports Update
- Girls Basketball
Our girlsโ basketball team has been hitting the gym hard in preparation for the upcoming season. Under the guidance of their head coach Duane Fuast and new assistant coaches Rosanne Sanfillipo and Terrica Franklin, the team is finding their rhythm and preparing to make waves. โWe are very excited for this season. The immense support weโve received from Rahkeem from EXOS and our Da Vinci Finance and Marketing departments. As a head coach it is a good feeling to know how much our girls are supported by such capable school staff and personnel,โ said Coach Faust. โIt really builds a solid foundation for our girls varsity basketball team to have a great year.โ Theyโll kick off their season with an exciting road tournament before jumping into regular-season action.
- Boys Basketball
Fresh off their 2nd place finish in the Pioneer League last year, the Boys Basketball teams are gearing up for the next challenge in the competitive Bay League, where theyโll face top-tier opponents like Redondo Union, Mira Costa, and West Torrance. Since September, the Varsity team has been preparing withย days at the track, beach, EXOS, in the gym and in fall league action. They have spent time bonding, training and supporting their fellow WDV teams throughout the fall season. The varsity coach, Jeff Amaral, had this to say about thecoming season, โWe are extremely excited to challenge ourselves with the toughest schedule in school history with tournaments at St. Monica, our host tournament over Thanksgiving, a return to the Holiday Classic at Torrey Pines and our entry into the Bay League, considered by many as one of the top public school leagues in Southern California.โ Hopefully you got a chance to come support the Varsity team as they hosted a home tournament over the Thanksgiving break, November 25-30!
- Boys and Girls Soccer
Both soccer programs are taking full advantage of the brand-new WDV Soccer Field, as they prepared for their league-opening games at the end of November. Girls Soccer varsity head coach Mimi Nartey is looking forward to the coming season, โThe players have been fantastic at training. Everyone has been positive and coachable. We are learning and growing by leaps and bounds! Letโs go set it off, ladies!โย
We canโt wait to see their hard work pay off on the pitch!
- Cheer Team
Our cheerleaders are ready to shine as they gear up for upcoming competitions. The headed out for the JAMZ Championship on November 23 at the Anaheim Convention Center! Their energy, skill, and spirit will undoubtedly lit up the stage and sidelines alike.
