Swim Team Tryouts

Date: December 3rd and 4th (must attend both days)
Time: 4:15pm – 5:30pm
Location: Wiseburn El Segundo Pool Deck
What to Bring: Swimmers must bring a swimsuit, goggles, cap (optional), towel and warm clothes. and water bottle.
Must be proficient in all four strokes (butterfly, backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke) and must be able to swim 200 yards without stopping and have a current sports physical on file.
Pre-register: WDV Swim Team Tryouts.

Track and Field Tryouts

Date:

GIRLS ONLY – 12/3/24 from 5:00-6:30pm
BOYS ONLY – 12/4/24 from 5:00-6:30pm

Wiseburn Da Vinci Track and Field Tryouts: Join the Team!

Are you ready to push your limits, build strength, and experience the thrill of competing? Tryouts for the WDV high school track and field team are coming up, and we’re excited to welcome new and returning athletes to the team! Track and field offers something for everyone, whether you’re a sprinter, distance runner, jumper, or thrower.

Here’s everything you need to know about tryouts:

🏃 Who Should Try Out?

All Da Vinci high school students are welcome! We’re looking for motivated athletes interested in competing in events like:

Sprints: 100m, 200m, and 400m
Distance Running: 800m, 1600m, and 3200m
Hurdles: 110/100/300m
Field Events: Long jump, high jump, shot put, and discus

No matter your skill level, we encourage everyone to try out. Track and field offers opportunities to develop your speed, strength, and endurance.

🏅 What to Bring

Proper Attire: Comfortable athletic clothing and running shoes
Water Bottle: Stay hydrated during the tryouts
Completed Physical Form: Must be submitted prior to tryouts
Positive Attitude: Be ready to work hard and have fun!

WDV Girls Soccer Information Meeting and Tryouts

Attention all students interested in joining the Wiseburn Da Vinci Wolves girls soccer team! We’re excited to announce that girls soccer tryouts are just around the corner, and we can’t wait to see you on the field!

Information Meeting

Join us for an important information meeting on October 15th at 6:30 PM in the Black Box Theater (201 Douglas campus). This is a great opportunity to learn more about the upcoming season, meet the coaching staff, and ask any questions you may have. We’ll cover everything from expectations and practice schedules to important dates and what to bring to tryouts. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, we encourage everyone to attend!

Tryouts

Mark your calendars for the official tryouts happening on our brand new Wiseburn Da Vinci Soccer field from October 22nd to October 25th, 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM each day. Come ready to showcase your skills, work hard, and demonstrate your passion for the game!

What to Bring

Cleats or Turf Shoes: Make sure you have appropriate footwear for the new turf.
Shin Guards: Protect yourself on the field.
Athletic Apparel: Tops and shorts that you can execute in.
Water: Staying hydrated is key, so bring a water bottle!
Positive Attitude: Come ready to learn and have fun!

Who Can Tryout?

All girls interested in playing soccer at any level are encouraged to join. Please make sure your sports physicals are complete, you have to have one for tryouts! Whether you’re aiming for the varsity team or just looking to improve your skills, we welcome you to come out and show us what you’ve got!

WDV Monthly Athletics Update

As we settle into the new school year, we are thrilled to share some fantastic updates from our WDV Athletics program. The excitement on our campuses has been palpable as our fall sports teams hit the ground running and our winter sports begin their preparations for the season ahead.

Fall Sports in Full Swing
We are pleased to report that our fall sports of Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Boys Beach Volleyball and Cheer are in full swing. The energy and enthusiasm from our student-athletes have been inspiring, and we are proud of the commitment and effort demonstrated across the board. We are eager to see their hard work translate into success in competition.

Team Highlights
Our Girls Volleyball team has kicked off their season with some formidable performances, boasting a record of 3-3 in league play (varsity). We have had six league games, in which the two matches against West and North Torrance were both nail biters, five sets each, all down to the wire WINS. Their hard work and teamwork are truly paying off, and we are excited to see how they continue to develop throughout the season. Good luck to our Girls Volleyball teams!

The Cross Country team has already made an impressive debut with their first meet of the year at the Laguna Hills Cross Country Invitational. Senior Nathanael Lincourt came in 12th out of 90 in the Division 3 Senior boys group and Freshman Jeannine Gandara finished 17th out of 74 in the Division 3 Freshman girls group. All the runners are making great strides, and their dedication is evident in their performance. October is an important month for cross country as they have five meets to prepare for. We are confident that their perseverance will lead to a continued successful season. Go Wolves!

Boys Beach Volleyball is wrapping up their season with a second place finish in league and are headed to the playoff FINALS happening 10/4! They have worked hard this week in playoffs competition and have successfully routed their opponents. Their final match is on 10/4 @ 4:00pm at Annenberg Beach House, go out and support them if you can! Congratulations gentlemen and good luck!

As always, thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our WDV Athletics program. The collective effort of our athletes, coaches, and community makes our program thrive. We look forward to an exciting year ahead and encourage everyone to come out and support our teams.

Congratulations to the Boys Beach Volleyball Team: Playoff Finals Bound!

What an incredible season for our Wiseburn Da Vinci Boys Beach Volleyball team! Finishing second in their league, they’ve battled hard to earn a spot in the Southern Pacific IBVL Boys’ Varsity Playoff Finals—a fantastic achievement worth celebrating!

Their skill, teamwork, and determination have propelled them through every match. As they prepare for the finals, it’s inspiring to see their commitment to refining their skills and supporting one another.

They’ve already made us proud, and we’re all rooting for that well-deserved championship. Let’s show our support and cheer them on—go, Wolves! Final match: 10/4/24 @ 4:00pm at the Annenberg Beach House!

Important Update for WDV Girls Soccer Info Meeting – Rescheduling

Attention those interested in attending the WDV Girls Soccer Info Meeting previously slated for next week. Unfortunately our WDV Girls Soccer meeting must be rescheduled due to a facilities conflict with the Da Vinci Design Back to School Night event on 9/10/24.

We are actively working with the facilities team to secure a new day, time, and location for the meeting. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we finalize the details.
