All student-athletes must have a current sports physical uploaded to Home Campus BEFORE tryouts — no exceptions!

💥 Good news: Exer Urgent Care is offering FREE physicals now through August 31! Don’t wait — take advantage of this opportunity and get cleared early for fall, winter and springs sports! Physicals are good for 365 days.

🎉 Reminder: Cheer Tryouts Are This Week! (June 26–28) 🎉

Hey Wiseburn Da Vinci students! Just a friendly reminder that Cheer Tryouts are happening this week — Wednesday through Friday, June 26–28! If you’re interested in joining the team, now’s the time to get everything ready.

✅ Pre-registration is required, so be sure to sign up ahead of time. REGISTER HERE

🩺 A current sports physical must be uploaded to Home Campus before tryouts begin! WHERE TO UPLOAD YOUR SPORTS PHYSICAL

Here’s what to expect:

June 26–27: These will be clinic days, where you’ll learn the routines, cheers, and material you’ll need to perform at tryouts. Attendance on both days is REQUIRED so you can feel confident and prepared.
June 28: Official Tryout Day! This is when you’ll show what you’ve learned and shine.

Bring your energy, a great attitude, and be ready to work hard and have fun. We can’t wait to see all the talent you bring to the floor!

📣 Get Ready to Cheer! WDV Cheer Tryouts Are Here!

FREE sports physicals for the coming 2025-26 school year are available beginning May 1 thru August 31. Da Vinci students can book their sports screening via the QR code on the flyer.

The following two documents must be signed by you and your parent/guardian BEFORE you can try out.

1. Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form;
2. Wiseburn Da Vinci Volleyball Player Tryout Conduct Consent Form.

Tryouts will take place after school on the following dates:

Pre-tryout clinic: Monday, May 12th – 4:15PM to 6:15PM
Tryouts: Tuesday, May 13th – 4:15PM to 6:15PM
Tryouts: Wednesday, May 14th – 4:15PM to 6:15PM

WDV Girls Beach Volleyball Tryouts

Attention all interested girls beach volleyball players! 🏆 The moment you’ve been waiting for is almost here: Girls Beach Volleyball Tryouts are just around the corner! Mark your calendars and set your alarms because tryouts are happening on Wednesday, January 29th, at the Dockweiler Youth Center Courts from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Swim Team Tryouts

Date: December 3rd and 4th (must attend both days)
Time: 4:15pm – 5:30pm
Location: Wiseburn El Segundo Pool Deck
What to Bring: Swimmers must bring a swimsuit, goggles, cap (optional), towel and warm clothes. and water bottle.
Must be proficient in all four strokes (butterfly, backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke) and must be able to swim 200 yards without stopping and have a current sports physical on file.
Pre-register: WDV Swim Team Tryouts.

Track and Field Tryouts

Get ready for an exciting week of athletics! Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening for our girls’ volleyball and cross-country teams, plus a special reminder for the girls’ soccer program.

🏐 Girls Volleyball – Senior Night

Date: Monday, October 14
Time: Varsity at 5:00 PM / JV&FS at 3:30 PM
Location: WDV Gym – HOME GAME

Come out and support our seniors as they play their final regular season home game! This is a great opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication they’ve given to the program over the years. Let’s fill the stands and cheer them on!

Time: JV&FS at 8:30 AM
Location: Peninsula High School

🏃‍♀️ Cross Country Meet

Date: Saturday, October 19
Location: El Dorado Park
Time: Races begin at 8:00 AM

Our cross-country runners are ready to compete in another league meet this Saturday. Make sure to wish them luck as they push toward personal bests and strong team finishes!

WDV Archery Program Information Meeting – 9/18

Join the Wiseburn Da Vinci Archery Program for 2024-2025!

Are you interested in archery? Whether you’re a returning archer or brand new to the sport, we’re excited to welcome you to try out for the Wiseburn Da Vinci Archery program for the 2024-2025 season!

Important Dates to Remember:

Info Session for students and families:
Date: Wednesday, September 18th
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Blackbox Theater, 201 Douglas Campus
All interested archers and families should plan to attend this session to learn about the program and ask any questions you might have.

Complete the Interest Form

Even if you filled out the form last year, you need to do it again! This is crucial for organizing training and tryouts.

Weekly training: Depending on the level of interest, you’ll be assigned to one training day per week from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. You’ll need to arrive on time, help set up equipment, warm up, and collaborate with the team.

Mandatory Safety Meetings: All interested students must attend a safety meeting before participating in any further team activities. Even if you’ve done this before, it’s a must to do it again.

Dates:
Tuesday, October 1st OR Wednesday, October 2nd
Time: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Pick the day that works best for you!

Archery Training:
Once you’ve attended a Mandatory Safety Meeting, you’re ready to start training!

Dates: October 8th – November 6th
Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Tuesdays: Da Vinci Communications and Da Vinci Design students
Wednesdays: Da Vinci Science and Da Vinci Connect students
(Subject to change based on interest)

Tryouts to Make the Team: Two rounds of tryouts will be held using Olympic ranking criteria. Your scores from both rounds will determine your ranking.

Dates:
November 12th & 19th: DVD and DVC students
November 13th & 20th: DV Connect and DVS students
(Subject to change based on interest)

The top 20 archers will secure spots on the team, forming both JV and Varsity squads. Those who don’t make the team this year will be encouraged to try out again next year.

Practice Schedule for Team Members: Once the team is selected, practices will be held twice a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, starting after Thanksgiving Break.

Competition Season: The season kicks off in January, with tournaments running from February through mid-May. Please note that competitions are far away (Beaumont/Chula Vista), and school transportation will not be provided.
